There is nothing quite like being extremely inspired and then having to wait to start working on projects.
I'm not complaining, well, sortof.
My Esso, (s.o. = significant other) Casey Boy is on an adventure and therefore I am manning his shop- the Blackjack Bioregional Infoshop and Darkness Drops Espresso Cart- here in Bend for 28 days while he travels through the bioregion (and slightly beyond) with a group of Irishman from Donnegal. One of the lads is a singer of traditional Irish songs, and plays the accordion and uilleann pipes. Casey is acting as tour manager, driver, host, and at the same time immersing himself in the Irish Language. In the meantime, I research things on the interwebs, make espresso drinks, read and rearrange the books, and chomp at my bit.
In the evenings, I work on finishing a commission I have going (which has been delightful, definitely not complaining about this one). All the while, however, another large blank canvas lays on my table, waiting patiently. I've been writing and rewriting a kind of overall vision of what the purpose of my work is, but I'm not quite ready to publish it, here. More chomping, more thoughtfulness, more footnotes, more conversations.
When the blank canvas begins to see color, maybe I will have a finished written statement to share...
